Runner's lethargy

Finally i've woken up! Well, just kiddin'. All seriousness, yes it's been a bit over two months since you guys have heard of me. I apalogise, thought life has kept me intensively occupied. What have i done these past months, well as i've mentioned earlier, i've practised for firefighter academy's so called 'musclar fitness tests'.
Because of that i've been runnin' basically none. I passed the test harshly a month ago succesfully. Now i'll just hope they call me for the final tests in Kuopio at the beginning of May, which will be the final decider, who gets in. Nonetheless i'm very happy, that i passed, so now i can focus on runnin' after being hibernated for some time. If you are interested more about being firefighter or any questions that are pointed out in that direction', feel free to pm me via. in any way :)

So of course gettin' in to the school is a huge decider, on what runnin' events i'm going to participate. I've consider to go run in Stockholm this year. There is only 14 weeks to go. That's not even remotely enough long runnin' program to prepare for marathon. Despite that, i've decided to run marathon somewhere between second half of May and first half of June. Because the possibly school startin' day going to be 8th of august this year and i've have plenty of errands to handle before steppin' on students zone so to speak.

Back to runnin' program. I haven't take any particular program for myself. I just decided this week, that "now it starts for real". So 14 week's of runnin', lots of runnin'. I'm plannin' to run roughly 5 to 6 times per week. Basic distribution going to be as following :

Monday : Easy / Extra Easy 30 min - 45 min (weeks varies) + (Swimmin')
Tuesday : Tempo or Intervals basically everything between 200 m's and 2 km's.
Wednesday : Easy "Basic", 45 - 60min
Thursday : Tempo Run startin' from 20 - 25 min and later on going to increase time for 35 - 45 min
Friday : REST (Swimmin', why ? At the final tests at school they gonna test out your swimmin' skills)
Saturday : Either Marathon target speed, distance from 7 km - 12 km or Extra Easy 40 - 60 min
Sunday : Long run startin' at 15km's (80-90min) and later in spring 20 km - 25 km' (2 - 2.5 hours)

Basically this is my runnin' philosophy. Run more often, mut keep the runnin' intense low-easy.
Summary : 5 - 6 runs + 2 x swimmin' untill the firefighter final tests are possibly done. After that perhaps less swimmin' some muscular training, or if i really get into runnin', i gonna add  one or two more Easy Run into my runnin' schedule.

Gear up and fight !
頑張る !
Gonna keep you updated more often now! Take care people and always try to find the brighter side of life.

  1. Moi!
Olen itsekkin kiinnostunut palomiehen ammatista ja pelastusopistoon hakemisesta. Voitko kertoa jotain pelastusopiston pääsykokeista, eritoten psygologiset/muut"erikoiset" testit kiinnostavat eli millaisia ne olivat? ja onko sinulla antaa joitain vinkkejä pelastusopistoon pääsemiseksi? On myös mukava seurata youtubeen kuvaamiasi videoita opistolta, jatka samaa rataa! ja tsemppiä opiskeluihin!

Kiitos. Lämmittää aina mieltä kun saa palautetta. Kuullaan tämän asian tiimoilta piakkoin! :) Hyvät viikonloput. Ps. Pahoittelut myöhäisestä vastaamisesta. Aika harvoin koulun aikana katsastelen blogia.
